Day 1: Singapore sights and city adventures


A morning in Chinatown


Start your day in Chinatown, beginning at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, an ornate structure that’s just as impressive inside as it is from the street. Wander through the intricately decorated halls and find a moment of zen in the hidden rooftop garden.

Just a few steps away, you'll stumble upon Sri Mariamman Temple, Singapore’s oldest Hindu temple, adorned with colourful mythological figures. If you're lucky, you might catch a Hindu ceremony in action.

To dive deeper into Chinatown’s culture, join a tea-tasting workshop at Yixing Xuan Teahouse, one of the city’s last remaining traditional teahouses. Sample exquisite Chinese teas like Oolong, Jasmine and Pu-erh, while learning the delicate art of tea preparation.

Hidden Gem: While in the area, stop by Keong Saik Road, a hip stretch packed with quirky cafes and indie boutiques that are pure Instagram gold.

Lunch: Liao Fan Hawker Chan


For an early lunch, tuck into a meal at Liao Fan Hawker Chan, the first hawker stall in the world to receive a Michelin star. Opt for their famous soy sauce chicken with rice – a flavour-packed dish that costs less than 10 SGD. Delicious and budget-friendly, it’s an absolute must-try.

Afternoon: Singapore River and Clarke Quay


Take a leisurely walk along the Singapore River to the Boat Quay, where you’ll be greeted by a lively stretch of riverside bars and colourful shophouses. Continue towards Clarke Quay, a bustling riverside hub that was once the city’s centre for trade. For a different perspective, board a river cruise and take in the city’s landmarks from the water, then beeline back to your hotel to freshen up.


Late afternoon: High tea at Raffles, Marina Bay Sands & Gardens by the Bay


Dress to impress and start your evening early with Afternoon Tea at Raffles Hotel. Sip Champagne and savour bite-sized treats – pastries, finger sandwiches and dainty scones – presented beautifully on a silver three-tier stand.

As the day fades, head up to the SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands and catch a surreal sunset with sweeping views of Singapore’s skyline. Then stroll over to Gardens by the Bay for the Garden Rhapsody Light Show at Supertree Grove. Time it right and get in line for the OCBC Skyway about half an hour before the show begins, and you’ll have a unique vantage point as the Supertrees light up in time with the music. Finish the day with a cocktail back at your hotel – a Singapore Sling makes for a classic city nightcap.

Expert Tip: A lesser-known viewpoint is the Sky Garden at Capita Spring, a rooftop oasis near Marina Bay Sands. Entry is free, but you’ll need to book ahead.

Day 2: Nature, shopping and a walk through history


Morning: Singapore Botanic Gardens


Begin your morning with a peaceful stroll through the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Be sure to visit the National Orchid Garden, with its stunning collection of over 1,000 hybrid species. Arriving early will give you the best light for photos and a chance to spot locals practising Tai Chi.

Mid-Morning: National Museum of Singapore


Next, explore Singapore’s rich history at the National Museum of Singapore. This museum provides a fascinating glimpse into the city’s journey from a humble trading post to an economic powerhouse.


Lunch: Dempsey Hill


Dempsey Hill, a green oasis filled with charming restaurants, is a great stop for a refuelling lunch. We recommend the banana leaf curries at Samy’s Curry Restaurant, washed down with a smooth Tiger beer.

Afternoon: Spa or pool time


After lunch, take some time to relax at your hotel. Unwind with a rejuvenating spa session or a refreshing dip in the pool.


Evening: Shopping & sky-high dining


Head to Orchard Road, the glamorous shopping street, where luxury malls and high-street brands line the squeaky-clean boulevard. Got extra time? Hop in a taxi or take the Cable Car to Sentosa Island and unleash your inner child. Get your heart racing at Universal Studios Singapore™ or zoom down the flumes at Adventure Cove Waterpark.

Despite all the action, Sentosa actually means ‘tranquillity’, so there’s plenty of downtime to be found too. Kick back on the soft sands of Siloso Beach, stroll around historical military battle ruins on the Imbiah Trail and wrap up with the dazzling fireworks and light show, Wings of Time.

Singapore may be one of the world’s most expensive cities, but you can stretch your budget. Dine at hawker centres for delicious local food at affordable prices and check out free attractions like art galleries and museums.


Follow the local laws:


Singapore’s strict regulations keep the city well-organised and clean. Avoid bringing chewing gum or e-cigarettes into the country and remember not to eat or drink on public transport or litter – fines can be hefty.


Singapore Airport - Changi:


Don’t miss a stop at Jewel Changi Airport, home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex. Surrounded by lush greenery, the 40-metre waterfall is a mesmerising sight, especially when lit up at night. It’s easily accessible from all terminals and well worth a visit, whether you’re arriving or departing.
