The Envoy, Autograph Collection
In a city brimming with history, it’s hardly surprising that Boston’s waterfront gets overlooked by visitors. If you’re considering a stay here, the Scandinavian-chic Envoy is the perfect base for imbibing the buzz of Boston’s trendy Seaport District.
There’s plenty to see and enjoy at Boston’s waterfront, including the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art and the Children’s Museum – not to mention a three-mile-long esplanade. There’s another very good reason to head waterside, however, and that’s to stay at The Envoy. Once through the glass-curtained exterior you’ll immediately clap eyes on an oversized upcycled chandelier, and contemporary art and plush Prussian blue sofas augment the peaceful and comfy minimalistic style seen in the 136 rooms. Here, a medley of blonde wood is warmed by soft leather seating and mustard yellow drapes. Bathrooms have a separate loo and large walk-in rainshower and quirky touches include funky TV stands upcycled from bicycle frames and bespoke bathroom partitions artfully etched with a historic map. There isn’t a duff room in the house but the corner suites have to-die-for waterfront views. On the ground floor pop-up restaurant Para Maria serves tacos and microbrews to a hipster crowd and glowing fire pits in summer and igloos in the winter make the rooftop bar, Lookout, a year-round eyrie. Pop up here for breakfast or in the evening, get comfy on one of the navy sofas, order a Seaport Sangria or a Fiddlehead craft beer and watch the twinkling Boston skyline, across the Charles river. Locally Paid Fees & Taxes: Expect to pay approximately $25 per room per night for hotel resort fees and local taxes.
