There’s a beautiful al fresco terrace as well as a Spanish-cuisine menu designed by twelve-Michelin-starred-chef Martín Berasategui, featuring a great range of creative and freshly made dishes.

Melvin Restaurant Multiple Michelin Star-awarded Martín Berasategui brings many years of experience to this popular, locally inspired restaurant. Canary Island-sourced fish, traditional rice dishes and Basque-prepared meat dishes are all on the menu here, all created by his team of talented chefs led by Sergio Fuentes. Main dishes are followed by mouthwatering deserts such as Champagne sorbet or coffee and orange ice cream.

Tágara Restaurant The vibe here is gourmet twists on traditional island cuisine, all served in the charming Plaza Abama at the heart of the resort. The restaurant overlooks the golf course and ocean beyond and is the perfect place to spend time over a mouthwatering meal with family or friends.

Sunway Pool Bar A casual atmosphere and light bites await you are this poolside venue. You barely have to lift a finger here - cocktails, smoothies and food can all be ordered from and served to your hammock or sunbed. Pure bliss.

Ámbar Gastro Bar In the late afternoon and evening move the party to Ámbar Gastro Bar with its intimate indoor lounge and breeze-brushed outdoor terrace that overlooks the golf course.

Move between the heated loungers and hydrotherapy pool and contrast it with the ice fountain and bucket showers to get the full experience of hot to cold.

At the Abama Tennis Centre, there are seven tennis and four paddle tennis courts and for the last few years been a seasonal APT tournament host. The views of the Atlantic and Teide National Park really add to the ambiance and the views are a welcome site between sets. Pro training can be arranged no matter your age or ability, and there's a bar and lounge area here too. The resort can arrange day trips to La Gomera and stargazing on Mount Teide.

Las Terrazas De Abama has earned a Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certificate for its commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations organisation. The apartment complex adopts energy-efficient measures and promotes the 3Rs of reduce, recycle and reuse. The Gourmet Shop sells local cheeses, honeys and wines and favours products within a 100 kilometre radius. They also sell AURA water and PIPOS hand sanitiser, giving the profits to charity. Your luxury suite sits on the Dave Thomas golf course, which has an EMAS certificate for its environmental policies and care of the surrounding environment.

Las Terrazas de Abama kids’ club is not like other kids' clubs. Camp Abama is set over 2000m² of open space, safari-style tents and native gardens, and is inspired by those halcyon, sun-kissed days of summer when days are packed with seemingly endless activities out in nature. There are no video games or technology - the focus here is on providing a place and weekly rotating programmes that encourage children to play, learn, unleash their creativity and be out in the fresh air. It costs extra, but children aged 4 to 14 can do things like sports and arts and crafts, and there are organised trips out to local attractions.

You’ve got the option of one, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with proper beds and en-suite bathrooms in every room. Cots are available free of charge. Some apartments overlook the golf course, and some the sea, and they all have a terrace or balcony to enjoy the views from. What makes all these apartments really great for families is the addition of a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining area, which is ideal if you’re self-catering.

Abama Golf encompasses an 18-hole golf course that was designed by Welsh course architect and golf pro, Dave Thomas, a practice area and a driving range and an academy which offers training to golfers of varying ages and abilities. The course itself often features of 'Europe's best' lists and is the host of a handful of international championships; the fairways are bordered by tens of thousands of trees and subtropical plants and scattered with white-sand bunkers and glistening lakes.
