A selection of hillside and over-lagoon villas offer space and tranquillity on a wellness-focussed escape.
Jungle-clad hillsides descend gently towards a tranquil lagoon in this pocket of Vietnam, and this modern resort takes full advantage of its pretty surroundings. It’s a hotel known for its wellness offerings and experiences and for introducing the first over-water bungalows in Vietnam.
Why we love Vedana Lagoon Resort & Spa
-
The larger villas with pools mean you can have your own private slice of paradise — the overwater villas come highly recommended
-
A welcoming team of staff are noted by past guests for their care and excellence
-
A complimentary daily wellness programme includes yoga and tai chi
-
The wide-ranging spa menu uses 100% natural ingredients in its therapies, with zero chemicals
Rooms
Plenty of dark and golden-toned woods bring some warmth into the guestrooms, which otherwise have a cool, modern feel. They all feature tiled floors (blissfully cooling underfoot) and neatly tucked beds. Some feel moodier than others, thanks to the onyx-coloured tiles used wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling in the oversized bathrooms. When making your room choice (of which there are many), allow yourself to be swayed by the overwater villas for something extra special.
Facilities
The Horizon Restaurant will be your most frequented venue, but the resort keeps things interesting with a range of options for private dining and special occasions. There’s a focus on local Vietnamese dishes which shouldn’t be missed, but the menus are complemented by European favourites too.
The Horizon Restaurant
Set at the heart of the resort, this all-day restaurant (6.30am to 10pm) has amazing views over the lagoon and provides a fusion of Asian and western cuisine. There's a real focus here on fresh ingredients and respecting local traditions.
The Lantern House
Sometimes used for cooking classes and lunches, the Lantern House is available for dining on request.
The Twilight
An overwater platform for a romantic dinner or lazy lunch, this private space is available on request.
Piano Bar
Open from the 1.30pm until 10pm, this is a peaceful spot to spend the afternoon or evening.
Romantic Dinner
Book a candlelit dinner in advance, available in your villa or on a wharf over the lagoon.
Daybreak Restaurant
Commanding a central spot with views over the lagoon and is the place to start the day with an extensive buffet breakfast (6.30am until 10am). The mix of western and Vietnamese dishes means there's something for all tastes and preferences.
RainBow Restaurant
Dine over the water on Vietnamese-style seafood. It's open from 11am until 10pm and is a great spot for a sunset dinner.
When timed to coincide with the sunset, dining over the water on the local catch at RainBow makes for a particularly special evening.

An excellent spa offers massages, facials, scrubs, and wraps. There are also hair treatments, and manicures and pedicures. Children under 12 aren’t forgotten — there’s a spa menu of body and nail treatments just for kids.
The resort has adopted a holistic approach to sustainability with initiatives around energy management, water use, and waste. They also limit the number of chemical products, buy local and fair-trade products, and support their local community.
This is a great resort for families with options that comfortably accommodate larger groups. Choosing a villa with a kitchenette can be particularly handy if you’re travelling with little ones. The two-bedroom hillside villa is our favourite for families, as although you’re set away from the shoreline, you have more space and a lovely garden area around your private pool.
