This sensationally beautiful part of Vietnam is perfect for swimming and kayaking, and you can venture into caves and grottoes to marvel at stalactites and stalagmites. You’ll stay in a Deluxe Cabin for two nights on a small ship where there’s a restaurant and sundeck to enjoy as you sail. Start your mornings with Tai Chi on deck before plunging into the water to swim or simply find a quiet patch to relax.

Recommended itinerary
Day 1
Hanoi to Halong Bay
You’ll be collected from Hanoi in the morning for the three-hour journey to Halong Bay on a scenic coach journey flanked by rice fields. Board the Bhaya Classic, a striking ship with just 20 comfortable cabins, and take your bags to your Deluxe Cabin, where the view through the large window may distract you. A Vietnamese buffet lunch is served in the restaurant as you depart. Later, you could go kayaking at Luon Cave and swimming of Titov island or visit Tung Saum, a pearl farm surrounded by limestone karsts. Tonight, dinner is served onboard.
Day 2
Halong Bay
As the sun rises, your day begins with t'ai chi on the deck, followed by a buffet breakfast. You’ll transfer to a smaller vessel for today’s activities – the Bhaya Spirit – cruising to Ba Ham Lake for kayaking and exploring the waters around Cua Van on a traditional rowing boat. You’ll return to the Bhaya Cruise for dinner.
Day 3
Halong Bay to Hanoi
Today you’ll explore Sung Sot Cave, the largest cave in Halong Bay, with a 500-metre paved passageway to follow. A final lunch is served on board as you cruise past Lom Bo Island, Trong Mai Islet and Ba Hang Fishermen Village before reaching the port at around midday, where you’ll disembark and make the journey back to Hanoi.
