Over this two-night trip, you'll explore magnificent Khmer art and architecture, heritage structures and hydrological engineering systems from a base in Siem Reap. You’ll visit many of the area’s highlights, including one of the world’s most famous temples - the vast Angkor Wat - alongside the Bayon and Ta Prohm, learning how they present the culture, religion, and values of the time. The final day includes visiting an enormous freshwater lake to see how local communities live and work in floating villages.

Recommended itinerary
Day 1
Angkor Thom
Explore the royal city of Angkor Thom, spending over two hours exploring this fascinating sight. Beginning at the footpath of the South Gate, lined by imposing carvings of gods and demons, you’ll venture into the Khmer Empire, visiting the 12th-century temple of Bayon sitting at the centre of Angkor Thom. The Terrace of Elephants, stretching over 350 metres, is where grand processions would have taken place, and you’ll also see the Ancient Royal Palace, where a series of kings ruled over the Khmer Empire in the Angkorian era. Later, you'll visit the top terrace of Angkor Wat to watch the sunset (weather conditions allowing).
Day 2
Angkor Wat
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll head to Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s most famous temple and the largest religious building in the world. There’s plenty of time to admire its decorative flourishes, the celestial nymphs, and the sheer scale of Angkor Wat, learning more about its religious roots as you go. You’ll move on to Ta Prohm, an atmospheric temple ruin of Angkor, reclaimed by jungle roots. Your final stop is at Banteay Srei, where beautifully preserved delicate stone carvings will captivate you.
Day 3
Tonle Sap Lake
Your final day focuses more on the Cambodia of the here and now when you’ll explore Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. You’ll board a boat to explore, seeing a floating village comprised of stilted wooden buildings that move with the water.
