Surrounded by olive groves and the Tuscan countryside, this is a picture-perfect spot for a wellbeing escape.
Slip away to Tuscany, with wide-open views of the region’s rolling landscape, punctuated with those iconic cypress trees. Guests here primarily come for the spa, indulging in treatments and rituals designed to help you relax and reset. Between long sessions in the pool and treatment rooms, there’s delicious food to enjoy in the restaurants, and San Gimignano is only ten minutes away when you’re ready to explore the beauty of the area.
Why we love Villasanpaolo Spa Resort
-
The hotel revolves around a large spa where there are rituals and therapies to indulge in, including a choice of couples’ treatments.
-
The olive oil used in the restaurant is produced on-site, with 600 olive trees providing an abundance of delicious produce.
-
The intimate, candlelit surroundings of Lacantina make for an extra-special (and private) five-course dinner.
-
Head out on a Vespa to explore the medieval hamlets around the hotel, or beautiful San Gimignano.
Rooms
Throughout, the décor is simple and created in a palette inspired by nature around the hotel with calming olive and sage green. When you’re weighing up which room type to go for, size is the main differentiator, although the Superior Rooms and Suites also have hydro bathtubs. For the best views, opt for a Suite, with the finest garden views or even San Gimignano in the distance from your private terrace.
Facilities
There are three restaurants at Villasanpaolo. Lampolla is where you’ll enjoy breakfast, but it’s also a lovely spot for a leisurely lunch or a quiet evening meal. Loliva, the café, has a more casual feel where you can pick up snacks and pizza. For something special, make reservations at the intimate Lacantina before you arrive for a memorable dinner in an Italian wine cellar.
Lampolla Restaurant
Find a cosy nook or a seat by the window for a romantic Italian dinner. Serves a buffet breakfast every morning.
Loliva Bistrotoscano
An informal restaurant for lunches with a warming fire in the winter and an outdoor terrace to enjoy in the summer with a café-style menu.
Lacantina
In an atmospherically lit wine cellar, spend an evening feasting on a five-course menu paired with Italian wines.
