Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa

For nature-loving castaways

This all-villa island paradise has a privileged position within a national marine park.

On Silhouette – the Seychelles’ third biggest island – sits Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa. Set on a beach within a designated national marine park and just around the corner from the historic village of La Passe, whose inhabitants are involved in the conservation of the island and its waters, the resort’s surroundings are one of the richest biodiversity hotspots in the Indian Ocean. Here, you can spot turtles laying their eggs on the sands near the hotel and rays in the shallow waters of the lagoon.

Why we love Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa

  • It lies between a long white beach and tropical forest, with incredible coral reefs and an abundance of birdlife to enjoy

  • This is the only resort on Silhouette island, most of which is a protected area, so there’s a real away-from-it-all feel

  • The food is memorably good, whether you’re into pasta by the pool, grilled lobster by the ocean or authentic Japanese cuisine

  • There are private candlelit dinners on the beach for honeymooners and treasure hunts and bike rides for children

There are two all-day venues and another five choices for dinner, meaning your idyllic island experience includes some of the best food in the Seychelles. There are also several private dining options, from beach barbecues to romantic waterside dinners.

Café Dauban
The relaxed main restaurant is open for buffet breakfast and dinner. In the evenings, you’ll find cuisine from all over the world, including some great Creole specialities, as well as a gourmet à la carte menu.

Aria
Open from noon until 9pm, this poolside all-day dining venue has a laidback atmosphere and a Mediterranean-inspired menu of wood-fired pizzas, wraps and pasta dishes.

The Four Degrees
Settle into this barefoot beach bar for a relaxed lunch or dinner of grilled lobster, catch of the day or a seafood sharing platter, or check out the cocktail menu to find your perfect sundowner or late-night tipple.

Teppanyaki
This dinner-only lakeside restaurant brings together authentic Japanese flavours and a dash of theatre thanks to the central open kitchen where the freshest of locally caught seafood is prepared on the speciality teppanyaki grill.

Grann Kaz
Dine on traditional homemade, home-grown Seychellois cuisine in a restored plantation house, the 19th-century home of the island’s former owners.

Sakura
There’s more food-as-theatre at Sakura, not far from the beach, with its open-air kitchen where you can enjoy Asian fusion dishes being created as you watch.

Portobello
The resort’s fine-dining Italian restaurant has romantic tables on the lakeside terrace and a fabulous wine cellar.

Lo Brizan Bar
Night owls will appreciate everything from the inspired cocktails and New World wines to the live entertainment at this breezy pool-and-sea-side bar.

The Papaya Lounge
Relaxing lounge area, centrally located in the resort, conveniently for you to refresh before or after your stay.

Step back in time, and get a taste of the island’s French, British and Creole heritage, at the former ‘big house’, Grann Kaz.

The Eforea Spa is surrounded by greenery and the natural granite boulders that are such a feature of the Seychelles, a setting you can savour as you lounge by the outdoor plunge pool. The stilted treatment rooms immerse you in nature and offer magical views along with therapies with a global theme. The footsore will love the foot and legs mini Journey, which brings together ancient Egyptian reflexology and Native American healing. There are morning yoga sessions on the beach led by a qualified instructor. The 24-hour gym has all the free weights, cardiovascular equipment and so on that fitness fans will need. In the great outdoors, there are guided nature hikes, tennis and mini golf.

The 5 Star PADI Labriz Dive Centre runs trips for qualified divers and snorkellers, open-water courses for the over-10s and pool-based experiences for prospective divers aged eight and upward. As the island’s only dive centre, it offers superb access to the marine park’s most stunning underwater sites such as Anse Mondon and North Island from its own fully equipped boat. You can rent snorkelling equipment and kayaks to explore the lagoon – there are dolphins, turtles and rays to be spotted.

The kitchens source more than three-quarters of their vegetables locally, many of them from the in-house organic plot. To limit the amount of rubbish on the island, all food waste is turned into fertiliser for the farm and native plant nursery. The resort’s drinking water comes from its bottling plant on Mount Dauban, where it’s filtered and put into glass bottles. It hosts free nature talks by the Island Conservation Society, where guests can learn about the local flora and fauna.

From the family-friendly pool to a 9-hole mini golf course, there's plenty here to keep all ages entertained. The Jungle Fun Kids Club (4-12 years) offers a superb range of activities and programs, including arts and craft workshops, bike rides, treasure hunts and film screenings.

Minimum stay: 5 nights 26 Dec-10 Jan.
