The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius

Your own slice of paradise

An intimate and romantic retreat with a sublime setting and renowned Oberoi service.

As soon as you enter this exquisite resort’s beautifully landscaped gardens, which are dotted with sculptures and water features, you’ll feel a wave of ‘zen’-like calm wash over you. The understated yet elegant architectural style of stone, wood and thatch reflects the resort’s unspoilt natural setting and the island’s unique blend of African and Asian cultures. The service is truly outstanding and the discreet staff go above and beyond to accommodate your every need. Follow winding paths to the beautiful infinity pool and step from the sundeck onto the small white-sand beach that edges a protected marine park.

Why we love The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius

  • There’s a real feeling of privacy and seclusion throughout, so it’s no surprise this is a popular choice for honeymooners

  • This boutique property hugs a pristine beach on the edge of a marine park, so the snorkelling and sunsets are amazing

  • While all the accommodation is serene and stylish, we recommend upgrading to a airy villa with a private pool

  • Whether it’s a Creole feast in a national monument or something from the smokehouse in the herb garden, the food is always memorable

Every meal here is a joy, from the superb food to the inviting setting, whether you’re in one of the two main restaurants or the pair of very different but equally characterful pop-ups.

The Restaurant Start and end the day under palm-thatched timbers or a canopy of stars next to the ocean. Choose from a fabulous range of tempting international, Indian and Creole dishes.

On The Rocks  Listen to the crashing of the waves at this al fresco restaurant perched on a rocky platform while you enjoy a lunch of grilled seafood, salad or pizza, perhaps. Barbecue dinners are served three days a week.

The Gunpowder Room Step back in time in an 18th-century room that’s been converted into an intimate dining location. It’s open two evenings a week with a set Creole Casserole menu, so be sure to reserve well in advance.

The Bar  Open from 10am until 11.30pm, this open-sided bar beside the ocean is the perfect spot to enjoy cocktails, spellbinding sunsets and live piano music.

The Herb Trail On Saturday and Sunday nights, this pop-up al fresco venue offers a four-course menu featuring dishes prepared in an underground fire pit and a smokehouse.

After dark, when it’s lit by flaming torches whose impact is doubled by the reflection pool, The Restaurant has a magical atmosphere.

Whats Included

Upgrade Options

Half Board • Breakfast at The Restaurant and dinner at The Restaurant or On the Rocks • Creole dinner in The Gunpowder (adults-only; Tuesday and Thursday).

Surrounded by lush gardens, the award-winning Oberoi Spa offers a range of 100 per cent natural and holistic treatments that use local oils and fruits. Facilities include a steam bath, gym and individual spa suites with private Jacuzzis.

The air-conditioned fitness centre has a good range of cardiovascular and weights machines, and you can look out over the gardens as you exercise. Body toning workouts and a group morning jog are also held during the week.

There are two floodlit tennis courts, and you can arrange lessons or coaching if you wish. You can also hire bicycles to explore beyond the resort.

With pristine coral reefs on the doorstep, this is an ideal location to learn how to dive. The nearby certified PADI dive centre offers professional instruction for beginners and more advanced divers, as well as a range of general and specialist dive trips.

There’s a good choice of complimentary water sports, including Hobie cat sailing, kayaking, water skiing, windsurfing, pedal boating and snorkelling trips to Turtle Bay marine park.

The resort has its own vegetable and herb garden which supplies a significant proportion of the kitchen’s needs. An on-site glass water bottling plant produces still and sparkling water for the rooms, restaurants and self-service dispensers by the pool and beach. All of the buildings have sugarcane-thatch roofs, a naturally insulating and locally grown product. The in-room toiletries, made for Oberoi by an ethical beauty brand, feature natural ingredients and recyclable packaging.

Minimum stay: 4 nights 26 Dec-07 Jan.

Compulsory New Year's Eve gala dinner, supplement applies.
