Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa

Free your spirit

Relaxation is the order of the day at this leafy boutique retreat blessed with idyllic beaches and an impressive wellness offering.

Luxury comes in the form of space and time at this beyond-inviting five-star resort backed by wooden hills and sugarcane fields in the sleepy south of Mauritius. Fringed by coral sand coves, its 36-acre grounds make a tranquil setting for a small collection of spacious ocean-view suites and pool villas created using natural materials such as granite, lava stone and wood to harmonious effect. There’s an easy rhythm to days here, however you choose to fill them. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the superb spa, take a yoga class on the beach or try your hand at archery. Mealtimes are an adventure in themselves, with the flavours of the island complemented by those of Arabia, Asia, India and the Mediterranean.

Why we love Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa

  • It has pristine beaches, one a gently sloping stretch of sand for leisurely swims and the other a windier slice of coastal scenery

  • With 36 acres of tropical gardens to hide them in, the 61 ocean-view suites and villas don’t just feel secluded, they are secluded

  • The wellness facilities are truly impressive, ranging from yoga classes in open pavilions to a comprehensive Ayurveda offering in the spa

  • Children are warmly welcomed with their own Explorers Kids Club, which has its own pool and a wide-ranging programme of things to do
