There are seven places to eat and drink here, keeping things nice and varied throughout your holiday. The beachfront The Boathouse is a casual option – perfect for lunch – although you’ll want to dress for dinner at the swisher restaurants like the Asian-inspired Floating Market, the authentic Japanese Atsuko, and the resort’s excellent Indian restaurant.

JW Marriott Mauritius Resort is a winner for families. If your children are between four and 12, there’s the excellent Kite Flyers Club, where they can be looked after between 9 am and 10 pm, giving you the option to spend a quiet evening in one of the restaurants. If your children are younger, you can book a babysitter for an additional fee. Once they’ve outgrown the kids club, older children can head to the Drawing Room, where games, a pool table, ping pong, table football, and a Playstation5. When you’re ready to gather back together, try some family activities, whether a cooking class or gardening, taking a picnic to the beach, or trying the myriad water sports options.
