Diamonds Thudufushi

A Maldivian jewel

An unspoilt and wonderfully informal island hideaway with excellent diving and snorkelling.

Small and scenic, Thudufushi has a lovely casual atmosphere. The island’s location on the outer edge of the atoll means easy access to the deeper ocean and the chance to see larger marine creatures. There’s also an excellent area for water-skiing and windsurfing, a large lagoon and house reef, and a special marine biology programme that includes coral regeneration.

Why we love Diamonds Thudufushi

  • A relaxed kind of luxury where there’s a chic but unpretentious feel

  • Complimentary guided snorkelling tour for all guests

  • With only 68 bungalows and villas, it has a more intimate feel than other resorts

  • Guests can participate in the coral conversation project to help protect the reef

It’s quality over quantity here. You’ll be allocated one of two restaurants depending on which accommodation you book. You can dine at your non-allocated option – although this is at an additional fee for Beach-based guests wishing to dine at Aqua. There are also memorable dining experiences to book separately.

Maakana
Next to the beach and overlooking the ocean, Maakana serves a buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maakana Main Bar serves up your all-inclusive drinks as well as Champagne and premium branded spirits.

Aqua
Aqua is an over-water restaurant serving modern European and Asian dishes. Meals at Aqua are included for Water Villa guests and for an additional fee for other guests. At sunset, head to the Aqua bar for a pre-dinner drink or two.

Farivalhu Maldivian Experience
Try Maldivian speciality dishes in a private setting under the stars. The chefs will whip up a mouthwatering meal (you can even participate if you wish) and you'll be invited to wear a traditional sarong to dinner if you want to fully immerse yourself in the expeience.

Thila Japanese Restaurant
Interactive, entertaining and mesmerising meals are the focus at Thudufushi's Teppanyaki restaurant. Seafood, meat and veggie dishes are created in front of you by skilled chefs.

Kakuni Seafood Experience
The catch of the day is the order of the day at this private dining experience. A table will be set out under the moonlight and island chefs will create stunning dishes right infront of you.

Veli Beach Bar
Right on the beach, Veli serves drinks and snacks from morning till night.

Let a chef prepare your eggs just how you like them at one of Maakana’s live cooking stations.

A good range of water sports are available, and many are complimentary. Options include windsurfing, canoeing, boat rental service, deep-sea fishing, water skiing, and kayaking. There’s no pool here, but the beautiful lagoon more than makes up for it.
