Istanbul, Pamukkale, Hierapolis & Aphrodisias
Take an overnight trip from Istanbul to Denizli to explore the archaeological site of the temple of the goddess Aphrodite and the exquisite Pamukkale, where mineral-rich waters cascade over travertine terraces.
You’ll fly from Istanbul to Denizli for this short trip to visit two of Turkey’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A visit to Aphrodisias reveals more about the ancient history of Turkey, named after Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and where well-preserved ruins of the ancient city offer a glimpse into its former grandeur. Your journey continues to Hierapolis, an ancient spa city home to Roman ruins. The adjacent natural wonder of Pamukkale, meaning cotton castle, features terraces of travertine formations created by calcium-rich mineral water cascading down the mountainside.

Istanbul
Istanbul's blend of East and West, ancient and contemporary, sets the stage for an unforgettable adventure. The sight of the minarets and domes on the skyline, juxtaposed against the modern cityscape, creates a captivating first impression. The aromas of rich Turkish coffee and freshly baked simit add to the sensory tapestry, while the call to prayer resonates in the background, serving as a melodic reminder of the city's deep-rooted traditions.
Day 4
Pamukkale, Hierapolis & Aphrodisias
You’ll be collected from your hotel for the short flight from Istanbul to Denizli, taking a 90-minute transfer to Aphrodisias, dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite. Constructed near a marble quarry used during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, it is a testament to the region's rich history and cultural significance. You’ll be immersed in the rich history of this ancient city as you explore the well-preserved ruins, including the Temple of Aphrodite, the Tetrapylon, the stadium, and the Odeon. After lunch, you’ll head to Pamukkale, which translates to Cotton Castle. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its therapeutic mineral baths and white petrified waterfalls. You can walk barefoot on the terraces of Pamukkale, where natural mineral-rich water has cascaded over the landscape, creating a series of mesmerising terraced pools. The mineral-rich waters are believed to have healing properties and have attracted visitors for centuries. As the day ends, you’ll have the chance to relax and soak in the natural beauty of Pamukkale before making your way to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 5
