The state-of-the-art spa is designed for the whole family to enjoy. The unique array of indulgent treatments are from the world’s top brands, including Aromatherapy Associates, LaStone and Natura Bissé. Therapies incorporate many of the botanic and mineral ingredients found on the subtropical island, including basalt stone, rose, mint, banana and orchid. The spa is in a separate building adjacent to the pool deck and accessed through fragrant gardens; there are five therapy rooms each with terraces overlooking the calming waters of the Atlantic Ocean, you'll have the option to enjoy outdoor treatments in the cooling breeze and you can relax in a private whirlpool. Unique to Madeira, the double therapy suite has two treatment tables, its own outdoor patio area and private plunge pool so couples, families and friends can experience the most luxurious therapies together. Separate changing facilities are provided for ladies and gentlemen with showers, dry sauna and steamrooms. A fully equipped cardiovascular fitness centre is also available.

Watch the sunrise from Madeira's third highest peak, Pico do Arieiro, take a guided tour of the hotel's gardens with a horticulturalist or join a workshop with a local dried flower artist.

There are two swimming pools, one freshwater and one seawater and the sea level platform provides direct access to the ocean. Windsurfing and scuba diving can be arranged or you may prefer to take a boat ride to Desertas Islands uninhabited, aside from rare monk seals.

All Belmond hotels aim to tread lightly, purchase as much food as possible from sustainable sources and follow sustainable practices to lessen their environmental impact.

The 'Fun@Reid's' service for children aged 3-9 is designed to ensure that parents enjoy a relaxing time together while their children have a fun-filled holiday. The service provides a range of activities, facilities, excursions and meals — all under the supervision of a team of multilingual carers. Fun@Reid's Children's Club operates seven days a week from 10am-5pm during school holidays and Monday to Friday year-round, and is based at the little 'Fun at Reid’s' house in the hotel grounds. The house is equipped with games, PlayStations and toys, and has its own play area outside with a kids' pool.
