This resort is a mountaintop oasis combining Omani tradition and VIP glamour.
The experience at this resort starts even before you arrive. A 4x4 transfer is needed to navigate the undulating roads leading to its setting at the top of a mountain, with increasingly impressive views the closer you get. Designed in the style of an ancient Omani fort, this six-acre resort is the highest in the Middle East. It combines staggering vistas of the rugged, russet-coloured canyon with an elevated level of service that suits its VIP regulars – it was billed as one of the world’s most remarkable places to stay on BBC’s Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby.

-
Guests who prefer pure relaxation can opt for a rose oil massage or a fresh pomegranate body scrub at the Anantara Spa
-
The main infinity pool has views that you might find on a trek deep within a national park
-
Take on the rugged terrain on a guided rock climbing expedition with a zip line
